In the 1970's, the focus shifted from the social activism of the sixties to social activities for one's own pleasure: drug use, all night dancing at discotheques, and swinging parties. There was new freedom for women, homosexuals, Native Americans, Chicanos, the elderly, the handicapped and other minorities.
